Aptness before assignment.
Agents are usually described by what they can do. AptyAgent asks whether they fit the task they are about to receive.
The right agent is not the most capable in general. It is the one most apt for the assignment.

Corresponds to part of the assignment but lacks the domain-specific reliability evidence required for a stronger classification.
Aptness is not a generic quality claim. It is the observable degree of correspondence between this agent and this assignment.
The distinction
Capability is internal. Aptness is relational.
Capability describes what an agent can do in general. Aptness evaluates whether that agent corresponds to the requirements of a particular assignment.
Belongs to
the agent.
Capability is an internal description of functions, tools and available behaviors. It may be broad, impressive and still insufficient for a specific task.
Exists between
agent and task.
Aptness is a correspondence judgment. It asks whether the chosen agent fits the assignment in skill, knowledge, tools, environment and demonstrated reliability.

AAF 1.0
AAF turns agent–task fit into a legible classification instrument. It does not reward generic power. It resolves correspondence.
The five dimensions of AAF define whether an agent should receive a task—not merely whether it exists in the system.
AAF evaluates task correspondence. It does not grant representation authority, assign permissions or approve an action for execution.
Skill correspondence
The degree to which the agent’s demonstrated functional skills align with the operations required by the task.
Knowledge correspondence
The degree to which the agent’s domain knowledge aligns with the concepts, evidence and vocabulary of the assignment.
Tool compatibility
The degree to which the agent can reliably use the tools, interfaces and formats the task requires.
Environment compatibility
The degree to which the agent is suited to the technical, temporal and operational environment surrounding the work.
Reliability evidence
The strength and relevance of repeatable evidence supporting performance on comparable assignments.
Fit classification
A0–A5
Every AAF assessment ends in a classification outcome. Not a loose capability impression. A legible assignment decision.
Unassessed
Evidence is insufficient to determine task correspondence. The agent-task pair has not yet reached a decision-ready state.
Misfit
One or more essential requirements are absent, contradicted or directly incompatible with the assignment.
Limited Fit
The agent corresponds to part of the assignment but lacks material requirements for a higher-confidence task match.
Conditional Fit
The assignment may proceed only under stated tools, constraints, support conditions or narrower operating assumptions.
Operational Fit
The agent corresponds strongly to the assignment within the defined environment and can be assigned the work operationally.
Demonstrated Fit
Strong, repeatable evidence supports correspondence across all essential dimensions. The match is not only plausible, but well evidenced.
